For Rosina

In honour of my mother — my first and dearest friend.

For Rosina — Dear Friend, the Amica Organics journal

Dear friend,

In late July 2026, my mother Rosina passed away in Canada. She was my best friend — the kind of friend who knew you completely and loved you anyway, who made every room warmer simply by being in it.

Amica means female friend. I created this brand to stay close to her, and to my dearest friends in Canada — to turn friendship into something you could hold in your hands and offer to another woman.

Rosina was beautiful inside and out: kind, generous, and endlessly creative. She taught me to use my hands — to cook, to craft, to develop recipes with patience and care. Her kitchen was where I first learned that love is something you make, slowly and well.

Her presence was layered like a rose: a comforting sanctuary, humble, a peacemaker with kindness and strength. Just as the rich aroma of a rose fills a room and lingers long after the bloom is gone, the essence of who she was, her laughter, her words, her unconditional love, remains entirely present with us. It is an unforgettable fragrance that time can’t fade.

She was gentle but fiercely protective of those she loved. She weathered life’s seasons as best as she could and with dignity, always returning to bloom with a forgiving, generous spirit.

When AMICA Organics began in 2010, I named our most loved facial oil ROSINA, because I always knew I wanted my mother to be part of this story. Every bottle is a small act of remembrance, and an invitation to care for yourself the way she taught me to care for others.

Her life was a beautiful, fragrant gift and though she is no longer with us in sight, the depth of her love will forever be rooted in the presence and scent of a rose for me.

Thank you for being part of this circle of friendship. She would have loved you for it.
